The TOP Penang is the viewing complex at the top of KOMTAR, the 68-storey tower in the centre of George Town. It has two observation decks, the indoor Observatory Deck on Level 65 and the open-air Rainbow Skywalk on the Level 68 roof, and the SkyBridge, a walk round the outside of the tower.

From the top you see the whole of George Town, the north coast towards Gurney Drive, Penang Hill and Air Itam inland, and both bridges to the mainland.

Before you go

Is The TOP Penang worth it?
For the view, yes: from the Rainbow Skywalk, on the tallest building in George Town, you see the old town, the coast, Penang Hill and the bridges in one turn. The SkyBridge adds a proper thrill on the same ticket.
How long do I need at The TOP Penang?
Allow at least 2 hours for the Skywalk, the Observatory Deck and the SkyBridge. The 5 Attractions Pass adds two indoor exhibits, so plan on more.
When is the best time to go?
Come at 10:00 for the fewest people, or at sunset for the light. Afternoons from 16:00 to 19:00 bring the heaviest rain and lightning, when the open-air levels close.
Where do I collect my ticket?
If you book online through Klook, you get a mobile voucher. Exchange it for your entry ticket or a wristband at the counter on Level 6 of The TOP. How to get there shows the way in from the street.
Is the Rainbow Skywalk safe?
Yes. The walkway is laminated, heat-treated glass built to hold 16 adults at a time, and Universiti Sains Malaysia ran pendulum, wind and vibration tests on it before it opened. It closes in rain and lightning.
Who can do the SkyBridge?
Anyone at least 110 cm tall and no heavier than 100 kg, in trousers or shorts: skirts and dresses are not allowed. You wear a safety harness and follow the staff's instructions. The SkyBridge runs from 10:00 to 19:00, last entry 18:00, so do it first if you arrive late in the day.
